All dem crazy crocs shoes!
So I was looking through the list of topics and one really caught my attention. It was about all the "Crocs" shoes in America now. This caught my attention because my family and I would always enjoy laughing at them. They really do look awfully silly when people wear them. Despite the looks, I will have to admit they extremely comfortable to put on your feet. This is why I would like researching this topic because they look horrible and it is fun to make fun of them, but once I wear them I completely understand why peolpe actually buy them. So questions that I would want to research would include: what the material are crocs actually made of, are they creators going to produce any types of new looks, and will they ever create any types of crocs for basketball players?

1 in 6000000!
This article was certainly a surprise to me. I enjoyed it very much because of the determination to find information about her grandmother's history. She was faced with many obstacles such as simply not knowing where to begin, but she did not let that push her down. I have that same feeling many times I start research projects. It would have been nice to read more about Hilary's experience with her grandma, but learning about her adventure was an exciting one.
Post it notes and Researching
The article talked much about different strategies for research. Susana made it clear that there are important steps that should be taken when gathering research. She shares with us how the steps should go. First, you need to find what ever you can use like articles and documents. Second, you need to annalyze what is in your materials and make critical notes; she highly recommends the use of post-it notes. Susana then says you should actually take a break from your research for some time and then start it back up after a while. Steps like these are very helpful and will even aide me in my research.

Linguistic Landscape Paper
For my linguistic landscape paper, I have decided to use a mailing pamphlet type of genre. It would be the genre that includes papers sent through the mail to people. The hope would be that these pamphlets contained the information needed to pursuade people to agree with something I wish to change. The topic I would like the raise to the community is that issue of bus service on campus. The busses that travel between Tri Towers and Waterson are very limmited. There have been time I was forced to walk to class all because there was no room on the bus. My genre would include features such as pictures, bullet points, and further information (internet site, phone number, etc.). Most people typically follow my same type of example by putting inofrmation and visual details on their paper. The best place to display this is to just mail it to everyone's mail boxes. If it is in their mail, they are certain to recieve it. That is why I believe this genre would be the best idea to use.
