Good Enough
While reading the article, I learned much about methods to write my paper. One important technique is to not expect to write the perfect paper on the first try. You need to take time and continually revise your paper. It is smart to jot down your thoughts when ever you think of them; even if your thoughts are simple and not as elaborate as you want. Once you have your thoughts down, you can continue to look over and rewrite your paper. If you do what Heidi did and explect her first draft to be her final draft, then you will not make any progress. That is why Heidi titled the essay as "Good Enough," because starting your paper with something that is just good enough, then you can continue to write a much better paper.

Living Sources
While reading, there were many ideas that popped up for me to use. One important factor that I took away from it was that when you conduct interviews, you need to make sure that the person you are interviewing is very smart in the subject you are researching. You can look up author names and different Internet sources. Another good idea during an interview is to make sure that you carry it out like a conversation. That way you can get the "most real" answers from a subject. Finally, if you are using surveys, you must make sure that they can reach your targeted audience. If that means you must go out and hand them out individually, then that's what you must do. If an elderly person takes a survey about new technology, it probably will not be that reliable of a survey. That is why you need to distribute your surveys appropriately.

Lit. Review --- First Draft
When reviewing my first draft for my lit review, I learned that some aspects are good and some need work. The things that are good about my part are the introductions into the quotations. Something that needs work is the discussion part in the essay. The reason my topic needs a literature review is because obesity is something that needs to be brought up to people. It is getting out of hand not many people are doing anything about it. The research that I have gathered came alot from prior knowledge. Much of it is basically talking about how fast food restaurants are around every corner and offer fat foods for cheap prices. Most people know this about fast food, so I need to include more research into it, too. Something that I would hope to include in the article would be aspects of restaurant owners and what they thing about people eating their food. It would be a good way to get both sides of the story.

Chapter 3 Kevin Fisch
In this chapter, Graff talks primarily about the amount of quoting writers need to use. The more quotations someone uses, the better that person sounds. Graff made sure the reader (me) knew this by saying, "Quoting someone else's words gives a tremendous amount of credibility to your summary and helps ensure that it fair and accurate." The reason I believe this is a good point is because I believe the same thing. I do not know everything, so if I am writing about an unfamiliar topic, it would be smart of me to quote someone who is very smart on that topic. It will make my work look more professional and legitimate.

Chapter 3 & 5
In chapter 3, the author talks alot about quotations in an essay. They can be a good thing or a bad thing for the paper. The best reason that a writer could quote someone is because that means that the writer is deffinetly not making anything up. It tell that reader that "Here it is. This is what (someone) said themselves." Now quoting people can also back fire on someone. If a writer just fills up their paper quotations, then 1) there is not much of their own thought going into the paper, and 2) alot of time, the writer does not even know what they are quoting. That's why qutoing needs to be selective when putting it into a paper.
While reading chapter 5, it discussed more about making ure the reader can understand the difference between your point-of-view and person who you took the quote from. There are suttle words that will let you know who's ideas you are reading. If the reader can not distiguish who's thoughts are who's, then there is really no point for them to read the paper. That is why it is important for writer's to make it clear when they are talking about THEIR thoughts, and when they are talking about their QUOTES.

All dem crazy crocs shoes!
So I was looking through the list of topics and one really caught my attention. It was about all the "Crocs" shoes in America now. This caught my attention because my family and I would always enjoy laughing at them. They really do look awfully silly when people wear them. Despite the looks, I will have to admit they extremely comfortable to put on your feet. This is why I would like researching this topic because they look horrible and it is fun to make fun of them, but once I wear them I completely understand why peolpe actually buy them. So questions that I would want to research would include: what the material are crocs actually made of, are they creators going to produce any types of new looks, and will they ever create any types of crocs for basketball players?

1 in 6000000!
This article was certainly a surprise to me. I enjoyed it very much because of the determination to find information about her grandmother's history. She was faced with many obstacles such as simply not knowing where to begin, but she did not let that push her down. I have that same feeling many times I start research projects. It would have been nice to read more about Hilary's experience with her grandma, but learning about her adventure was an exciting one.
